The dot SE country-code TLD was created in 1986 and given to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration process was quite restrictive, so a very limited number of domain names were booked. Individuals were allowed to grab no more than one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was compulsory, i.e. only Swedish persons, firms and organizations were able to purchase a dot SE domain.
